Our name - La Nipitella - comes from the aromatic plant, similar to mint, that grows naturally in the area. We are located in Montemarcello, Liguria; a charming and peaceful setting on top of a promontory with spectacular views: the sea, Cinque Terre, the white marble of the Apuan Alps and the Tuscan coast all just a stone’s throw away.

We offer three fresh and sunshine filled rooms. Each recalling a native Ligurian aroma and fruit: “Il Corbezzolo” (the strawberry tree), “L’Ulivo” (the olive tree) and “La Mimosa”, the rooms are imbued with the tastes, fragrances and colours of the surrounding landscape.

We like to think of La Nipitella as a Maison de Charme, full of warmth with the smell of the wind and the sea.
Inspired by the elegance of bygone eras but updated with the colours and comforts of today, each room has a private en suite bathroom and is stylishly and minimally furnished with marble directly from the quarries in the Apuan Alps, visible from the windows of some rooms on sunny days. High quality finishes and practicality make the place a comfortable refuge immersed in beauty: towels, complementary soaps, hairdryer and air conditioning are provided in all rooms.

As you enter the house you will find a common area where guests are welcome to relax after a day at the beach, unwind after an excursion, or wait for dinner. The restaurant downstairs, ‘I Pironcelli’, offers homemade Ligurian cuisine, the perfect choice for guests staying at La Nipitella with special discounts available. The pleasant atmosphere will make you feel right at home.

"I Pironcelli" - Restaurant

We are located near the start of Montemarcello, above the restaurant I Pironcelli, just after the historical stone arch that marks the entrance to the pedestrian town. Since driving is not allowed in the pedestrian area, guests may leave their vehicles in the public car park found outside the town walls (less than 50 metres away) and reach the house on foot.

You will recognise La Nipitella by the colour of its red bricks, typical of Ligurian buildings. As we love to say, the entry is “just around the corner” from the archway, through a green door up few small steps that matches the window shutters on the rooms.
